Since 1972, Chisholm had been providing community-based residential care and support for young women in need in partnership with the Department of Community Services. The young women that have benefited from Chisholm's care can attest to the importance of having an organization who invests in the realization of self-worth through professional programs and support.
Now in 2011, Chisholm is evolving its residential service to respond to an essential need identified for children under 12 who face complex challenges. These children require short term, and in some cases, long term early intervention care and support. This new program offered by Chisholm will be one of two organizations in Nova Scotia who meet this need, and the only program of its kind in the Central Region of Nova Scotia.
